Effectiveness of Waste Bank Implementation as Environmental Campaign & Custom in Indonesia
Abstract
The issue of increasing waste production has become an ongoing problem, particularly in Indonesia. Garbage would have always continued to grow and posed a problem whose accumulation cannot be avoided because all living things will always produce waste in their daily lives. One method for waste management was to set up a waste bank program. The Waste Bank Program is recognized as an important initiative for promoting public awareness and encouraging waste sorting, recycling, and utilization. The waste bank program in Indonesia, however, indicated the verge of extinction and would have developed a barrier to a number of shortcomings and ineffectiveness (Suardi et al 2018). This research evaluated the efficacy of current waste bank programs in Indonesia as well as any long-term issues that waste banks could create. Focusing on waste banks in schools, offices, and public administration in Indonesia, this study was conducted collaboratively utilizing the meta-analytic technique with comparative and contemporary analysis, whereas environmental authorities could utilize this study to discover best practices for prolonging the implementation of waste banks. However, this study also identified possible flaws in the waste bank program’s execution in government administration.
